We understand that paper is the fifth colour in all things print. The human eye will use the ‘whiteness’ of the paper and will reference all other colours based upon the paper shade.

Thanks to our in-house finishing department, under one roof, we’re able to complete your job in its entirety with the likes of PUR binding, laminating, folding, stitching, kitting and handwork.

Considerations when working with Offset:

  • Substrate/stock – Paper is the ‘5th’ colour in printing. The white point of a paper (some are more blue and some are more yellow) will have an effect on the colour ink that is put on top of it. Consider your stock choice for colour critical work.
  • Lead times – Standard lead times 5-7 working days
  • Artwork – You can download PDF export setting, ICC profiles and colour management polices to ensure your best results
  • Finishing – PUR binding is stronger than Lock, Burst or Perfect Binding
  • Delivery/distribution – Think about how you will unload and handle your job at the customer end. Do we need to pack these in a particular quantity, weight or require a hand unload?

    Use for the preparation of content for high quality printing conditions on Coated Substrates (Paper types 1 & 2) at Southern Colour (VIC) Pty Ltd. Dot Gain and primary colour values are based on the ISO 12647:2 2013 standard. CMYK values are preserved. Profile warnings are enabled.
    Adobe Colour Settings File - Uncoated Substrates
    Use for the preparation of content for high quality printing conditions on Uncoated Substrates (Paper type 4) at Southern Colour (VIC) Pty Ltd. Dot Gain and primary colour vlaues are based on the ISO 12647:2 2013 standard. CMYK values are preserved. Profile warnings are enabled.
    ICC Profile - Coated Substrates
    The ECI offset profile PSOcoated_v3.icc is based on the characterisation data set “FOGRA51.txt” applicable to the following reference printing condition according to the international standard ISO 12647-2:2013: Commercial and specialty offset, Premium coated paper, tone value increase curve 2013-A, white backing. This profile will produce a total dot area 300% and maximum black of 96%
    ICC Profile - Uncoated Substrates
    The ECI offset profile PSOuncoated_v3_ FOGRA52.icc is based on the characterisation data set “FOGRA52.txt” applicable to the following reference printing condition according to the international standard ISO 12647-2:2013: Commercial and specialty offset, wood-free uncoated white paper, tone value increase curve 2013-C, white backing.
